June 21-22, 2014
Each week, the Virginia Wine Dogs sniff out the most PAWSOME wine events in for weekend. With the Summer Solstice, we have A Paws for Celebration in Maryland, Oldies but Goodies are coming to BOW, and it’s Yappy Hour! at Keswick.

June 21 (Noon-4pm), A Paws for Celebration at Red Heifer Winery (in Maryland). Join Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) as they celebrate four years of saving dogs from high-kill shelters, primarily in the Carolinas – over 3,500 dogs saved – and still counting! Live acoustic music by… appropriately… Dogfoot. Gotta share how the band got its name – while practicing their music, their pack of primarily rescue pups started walking in and out of the equipment. They said to one another: "If we could just have one less dog foot".....and the band was formed.
June 22 (Noon-4pm), Oldies but Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue at BOW. A fun-filled afternoon on the patio at Barrel Oak Winery in Virginia wine country. Dogs welcome (no retractable leashes, please). Wear an OBG shirt or hat, purchase a full wine tasting ($11), and OBG receives a $5 donation from Barrel Oak! There will be an Adoption Show, Prizes, Raffles, a Bake Sale, Cheese and Crackers, and Chocolate Covered Strawberries! Click here to see all the adoptable cuties who are coming.
June 22 (Noon-3pm), Yappy Hours! with Louisa Humane Society. Bring your special furry friends to Keswick Vineyards to socialize with other animal lovers, or get to know animals from the Louisa Humane Society that are in need of a home. Keswick happily donates a portion of sales for each bottle opened to the visiting animal shelter. To see what furry friends may be making an appearance check out Louisa Humane Society.
